Tanning Beds

So you in an area with enough people that you feel a tanning bed may increase your business. Well there are a few things to consider first before you ever buy a tanning bed.  First off tanning beds don’t just plug in to a wall socket they require special sockets that may have to be installed by an electrician if your back room doesn’t already have one.

Second thing we are going to look at is if you’re willing to compete with the growing number of people that are buying home tanning beds these days. It seems to be growing trend to buy a personal tanning bed. Several people now want to buy their own personal tanning bed instead of going to the salon due to the convenience and concerns about sanitation.  If you’re willing to compete with this then buy all means read on.

Now we will look at sanitation and supplies not only are you buying a bed but you with have to be stocked with cleaner which runs about $27.50 a gallon. Disposable eye covers will run you another $30 for every 200 uses. Neck pillows will run you another $27 and the list goes on and on of things you will need. So remember it’s not just the bed but the supplies to go with it. And what about cleaning is your shop busy all the time? Are you going to be able to clean it after every uses? These are question you need to ask yourself. If a customer becomes ill they won’t return and you could lose your business all together.

Next thing to look at is price; the starting price is around $1200 and can go up to $5000. With the summer months coming up you may want to take time to think it over there are a lot of girls wanting tans and having more than one bed will greatly increase your business and lower wait times so people will want to return.  Get something in your price range but still shows you have style.

Now it’s time for a more serious matter, you enjoy repeat business but hasn’t that girl been in twice this week already? A study has been published in 2005 that tanning addicts are likely to experience severe withdrawal symptoms if they miss a tanning session. If you think you see the danger signs talk to this person and get them the help they need. Warning signs may include the following symptoms: anxiety if one or more tanning sessions are missed, competing with friends about who can get the darkest tan, and being frustrated about the color of one’s skin, with one being told that their skin is lighter than it really is.

Now that you know more about what awaits you, you can better decided if buying a tanning bed or not is right for you.
